Amsterdam Smart City is the innovation platform that connects changemakers to shape the cities of the future together. It is a collaboration between governments, companies, knowledge institutions, and residents. Amsterdam Smart City (ASC) has been an independent platform since 2009 for jointly addressing urban challenges and for learning by doing and experimenting. Technology and data are supporting tools in this. It is a public-private partnership with 20 partners and an international community of more than 8000 members.

Our approach
A platform that stimulates interactions
The success of a platform lies in knowing what your functional added value is, and not doing everything else. Amsterdam Smart City is not a social medium (we connect with LinkedIn), it is not an event platform (we link to Eventbrite), and it is also not a funding platform (but feel free to pitch your idea). The platform is purely focused on bringing relevant developments to the surface and increasing the frequency of interactions in the network. Once the connection is made between experts, it naturally follows its course.
No separate channels but a personally relevant feed
Innovation experts do not think in silos and do not have time to search. By decoupling content from theme channels and making tags leading, the right connections between content and members are created. With the personal feed as the core of the UX design, you are one click away from relevant updates. This creates a concise Service Cycle within the platform.
The community knows what 'smart' is
The designed smart button is an open door for encouraging low-threshold interaction. The community determines what is valuable and thus more visible.
An independent sustainable tech stack
Amsterdam Smart City was technically limited by the boundaries of a SaaS platform. Digital Natives prepared a new tech stack for the future, including a new frontend, backend, and user-friendly CMS.
