Stimulating platform makes €20 million in subsidies more accessible for the creative industry

The Creative Industries Fund NL - the name says it all - supports creators in the entire sector including design, architecture, digital culture, and all possible cross-connections between them. Digital Natives designed and developed a completely new website for the fund based on research and is committed to its growth.

The Challenge

Making Grant Applications Accessible and Inspiring

Applying for grants can be seen as needing help, or something unattainable, while the creative industry greatly benefits from experimentation, talent development, and independent creators from all corners of society. The goals of the new website are therefore:

Explaining how grant applications work
Inspiring and motivating participation
Providing insight into societal impact and developments in the industry

Our approach

A dynamic information provision that stimulates discovery

Our research with the target audience quickly revealed that there are visitors who want to get to know the fund and creators who specifically want to know if a (new) grant is something for them. The design concept of the website was formed based on this into a digital experience that can be both straightforward (functional) and organic (emotional) with the distinctive S as a guide.

Dynamic Digital Identity and Experience

We developed a progressive user experience that both better guides visitors in making an application and provides a platform for organic developments in the creative sector. We designed a dynamic canvas around the stylistic identity with the characteristic 'S' as a guide in collaboration with branding agency Studio Van Onna.

Smart Content Relationships

Pure project categories no longer exist. Work is cross-disciplinary. The website enables and makes these connections visible.

Design System for Storytelling

The developments in the industry are enormous. The fund has much to share. The design system offers the freedom to tell stories.

Sustainable Management System (CMS)

With the help of Craft CMS and a headless setup, we realized a modern information architecture and a foundation that is easily expandable and future-proof. The emphasis here is on organizing content management for the fund as efficiently as possible.
